Nicholas Ryan Lee
Okay, so I am extremely behind in posting! We had Nicholas Ryan Lee on October 12th at 8:31 p.m. He has 10 fingers and 10 toes and is absolutely perfect! There were so many family members and friends at the hospital to help welcome him into the world and it meant so much to us! He weighed 7 lbs 7 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long! Since then he has grown so much! We had his one month check up yesterday and he is now 9 lbs 9 oz and 22 inches long. He eats wonderfully and is now only waking up once during the night to eat around 2-3! (which is SO much better than his 1 and 4 feedings the first couple of weeks)! Being a mommy has to be the most rewarding and amazing thing! Ryan and I enjoy every second with Nicholas and are excited about all the things to come! Here are a few pics of our precious baby boy!

Dr visit
So I have been going to the Dr every week on Tuesday for awhile now. This last visit I was really hoping for some progress. Last week I was 50% effaced and had not dilated. This week (37 weeks and 5 days) I was 90% effaced and 2 cm dilated! Yay for progress! She said Nicholas had a good sense of direction and was head down. Hopefully big man is getting ready for his debut into this world! Once again we appreciate all the love and support from family and friends!
Family Shower
Ryan's sisters, sister in law, and cousin hosted a family shower for us. Once again there was great food and a good time! It was so wonderful to have all my family and Ryan's family there to celebrate in this special time with us. Nicholas recieved great gifts and I swear he has more clothes than I do now!! It means so much to us to have all this love and support during this time!

This past Sunday several of my good friends hosted a baby shower for me (and Nicholas!). It was so much fun and I am grateful to everyone that was able to come! Nicholas got many wonderful things and I can't wait for him to be here so we can use them all! I was super excited about the gift from the hostesses...my pack n play! Overall it was a great day and really meant alot to me. I am so thankful for my amazing friends and family!

Baby Shower
Our Sunday School class had a couples shower for us last Friday. It was our first baby shower and we were so excited! We had a great turnout and had lots of fun. One of the best things though was when my family walked in the door. I knew my parents and Logan were coming, but Liza had said she wasn't coming home that weekend from school. However when my family came in Liza was with them! It was a total surprise and I was very excited to have them all there during this special and exciting time! My dad had the video camera (of course) and my mom took several pictures. Here are just a few.
We want to thank our class and church for all their love and support during this time!

Great News!
I had another appt this past Tuesday. After my last visit I have been really trying to take it easy and eat right. Well today I had NO protein in my urine and I actually LOST a pound! Yay! The Dr said I must be following her orders. She said my bp was still up a little and so she wanted me to continue to take it easy on my days off. But no bedrest! I have to start going back to the dr every week now. I'm sure that will make time go by faster! I can't believe we are 35 weeks...time has really flown by! The nursery is coming along...my dad went with me this past weekend and we bought a glider. So everything is done except for hanging some things on the wall! I love just sitting in Nicholas's room and looking around. Its hard to believe that in no longer than five weeks we will have a baby boy! We truly feel blessed and pray these last few weeks go smoothly!

Not so good visit...
I had a Dr appt August 25th. Since everything has been going so smoothly this whole pregnancy, I figured this appt would be no different. Well when the Dr came in to talk to me she handed me a brochure on high blood pressure and preeclampsia. Boy did my heart jump! She said my bp wasn't really that high, but it was starting to trend up. She also said I had protein in my urine and rapid weight gain (I won't give a number!) and some swelling in my hands. All these are signs of preeclampsia. She could tell I was worried, so she reassured me that I don't have preeclampsia, but she just wanted me to be aware of several signs and symptoms. She said we would discuss it more at my next visit and see how I was doing then. She said if it worsened I might have to be placed on bedrest. Needless to say I have been taking it easy on all my days off. Even at work they are being kind enough to let me stay off my feet as much as possible. I started taking calcium (tums) everyday and trying to walk on all my days off. I certainly do NOT want to be placed on bedrest! Ryan and I are doing all we can to make sure Nicholas is healthy. Thanks for the support and prayers!

4D Pictures
Ok, so I am a little behind posting. About two Fridays ago I went for an ultrasound to see if we could get a picture of baby Nicholas's face. I decided to drink a Dr Pepper before we went so he would be moving around. Well, apparently Dr Pepper puts him to sleep! He was so still and had his hands in front of his little face. He would not budge! The tech tried to get some pictures...we got a great one of his ear! Haha! She told me I could leave and come back in an hour. I went home and ate and tried to move around to get him moving. When I went back thankfully he was awake and moving. Unfortunately, to get really great pictures there has to be enough fluid between baby and placenta. Well our little man had his face practically right up to the placenta! We still were able to get several pictures of his cute face. I think he has his daddy's nose. :) It was so amazing to actually see our little boy again. We are truly excited and are patiently awaiting his arrival! Thanks for all the love and prayers!

Updates
It's been awhile since I have written...but there really isn't too much to update on. I am now going to the dr every two weeks for checkups, and everything is moving along perfectly! I had my glucose tolerance test a few weeks ago and it was 90! (which is great for those that don't know). My blood pressure, weight, and the baby's heartbeat have been perfect each visit as well, so we are very thankful! He is definitely growing and getting stronger each week. His movements are stronger and almost uncomfortable at times! But I still love it when he moves and reminds me that there is a little life inside me! I guess the only big thing to report is that we have decided on a name for our little one...Nicholas Ryan Lee. I think it is absolutely perfect! I have my 4D ultrasound next friday so I will post then!

Absolute Joy
So there are many things in life that bring joy...but feeling your baby move around inside of you has got to be ranked in the top! I have been feeling Baby Lee move around for quite a while now, but now most of my family has felt him move as well! I remember when Ryan first felt him move several weeks ago...he was so excited! My youngest sister felt him move for the first time this week, and she thought it was so crazy! Although sometimes he can be a little rough to mommy and get to kicking or punching, I am always thankful and it reassures me that he is doing well. I know I would be so worried if he wasn't moving!
One of my favorite things to do is lay on the couch or in the bed and let Ryan place his hand on my tummy to feel his son move around. It always brings a smile to Ryan's face and mine as well. Baby Lee usually likes to move after I have eaten, although that is not always the case.
I can't believe how fast time is flying by and I know October will be here before we know it! Several of my friends are pregnant now, and it is so fun sharing stories and special moments with them! Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers! We are truly blessed!

ITS A BOY!!
Look how big HE is!! These are just a few of my favorite pictures...
Okay, I'm sorry it has taken me so long to post on this wonderful news. Friday the 15th we went for our monthly visit to the doctor. We were only 18 weeks, but really hoping that we would be able to find out if we were having a boy or girl. I was so excited and trying to plan how we were going to tell our parents. My friend Anna suggested a really cute idea that involved us having our parents over for dinner that night and telling them. So I called both our parents the night before and they agreed to come over for dinner. Our appt was at 9:00 Friday morning. When we got there they called our name fairly quickly to go back for the ultrasound. The lady told us she was going to take lots of pictures and we would get several of the good ones. I was very excited about that considering we only got one picture last time! She asked if we wanted to know the sex, and of course we said YES! As we are looking at our beautiful baby's head, arms, and legs...she said "I think it might be a boy!" We were completely shocked for two reasons...1) we were both thinking it was a girl, and 2) we couldn't see anything! She pointed to where we needed to look and the legs were crossed! She said she couldn't see for sure until the legs uncrossed, but she was thinking it was a boy. Now how she came up with that without seeing between the legs i'll never know! Anyway, the baby wasn't really moving alot, and I was afraid we were going to have to come back later to be certain if it was a boy or girl. All of a sudden the baby started doing flips and the legs flew open! Then she said "It's definitely a boy!!" Ryan grabbed my arm and had the biggest smile on his face that I have ever seen! It was like he just recieved the best gift ever! I was so excited tears were welling up in my eyes! She took several more pictures, and then gave us a few. It had been two months since we had seen the baby, and I was AMAZED at how much bigger he was! He was absolutely beautiful! Ryan had to go back to work, so then I went back for my actual appt. Once again I stood on the scale and cringed! I had gained EIGHT pounds! Yikes! Of course I was worried, but she reassured me that my weight gain was fine. I had only been gaining two pounds on each of the previous visits and so my total weight gain was only 11 pounds. She asked if I had been craving salty foods and I answered yes. She said some of the weight was probably water retention from the sodium. So needless to say I am trying to watch my sodium now!
After the appt I called Ryan at work. He was dying to tell people and to be honest, so was I! We decided we couldn't wait till dinner so on his lunch break we went to tell our parents at their offices. I bought white flowers and had a blue ribbon with a blue pacifier tied around them. Of course, they figured it out right away! Everyone was so happy! It was a very exciting day and now I can't wait to start decorating HIS room!
Ryan and I feel so blessed and know this baby boy is a gift from God. Although we can't wait till he arrives, we are enjoying every minute of the pregnancy and all the milestones that come with it! Now I am waiting on Ryan to be able to feel his precious son move in my belly! This is truly an amazing road we are going down! Thanks for all the prayers and support!

Birthday Boy
Yesterday was Ryan's 28th birthday. So I decided to be a wonderful wife and cook him supper and bake a cake. Okay, for those that know me...cooking is not exactly my strong point. But I knew he would appreciate it, so I made one of his favorite dishes. Thank goodness it isn't too difficult. Then came the cake part. I decided to make his grandmother's sugar crust cake. He had this cake every year growing up for his birthday. I made one last year, but I had help (thanks melanie!). This year I decided to tackle it all on my own. I mean this cake is made from scratch...flour, sugar, eggs, yada yada. Needless to say my kitchen was a MESS! :) Fortunately I started early in the afternoon and had supper and dessert ready with a clean kitchen when he got home! He was very excited. My parents came over to eat with us and brought his presents. Everyone said supper was good (I even checked to see if anyone was sick this morning..haha!). Ryan opened all his presents and liked everything he received. We still have to celebrate with his family (his mom was out of town on Thursday), so I'm sure he will get some more goodies! As soon as I download my pics I'll put one up of the cake!
Till next time,

Oos Aahs Cuddles and Coos...
WE HAVE SOME BABY NEWS!
Okay so we have known for a little while that we were expecting, but we wanted to get through the first trimester before we told anyone. We went last Friday (3/20) for a checkup and heard the baby's heartbeat and saw him/her kicking and moving around like crazy! It was very exciting and emotional. The doctor said it was safe to tell so we made these cute announcement cards and gave them to family...they were all very excited!!
Ryan and I can't believe we are going to be parents, and we are both so happy! We feel so blessed and can't wait to see what God has in store for our family and this little one!

a month later...
okay, so i'm a little late getting a christmas post up....i'll use the excuse "i was waiting to get pics from my mother". anyway, christmas is always a busy time for our family. christmas eve is spent at my grandparents on my dad's side. there are lots of people and lots of food. this year i had to work christmas eve so i'm sporting my lovely christmas scrubs. yes, i'm a dork and wear printed scrubs!
this was our first christmas as a married couple (very exciting!), so we opened our presents christmas morning and then went to my parents around 9:00. after opening presents there, we headed over to my mother's side of the family for lunch. it is a smaller group of people, but still good food and always a good time! once we came back home, we had a few hours to recooperate and then it was off to ryan's parents house for christmas dinner. needless to say we were exhausted!
i really wanted to send out christmas cards, and then it turned into new years cards, and then nothing was sent! hopefully next year i'll be better at time management! but thanks to all our friends and family that sent us cards! i love getting mail!
overall it was a wonderful christmas, and as usual, it went by way too fast!

For starters...
okay, so why i decided to start a blog i'm not sure. as if facebook, myspace, and plain email aren't enough!! but what can i say....everyone's doing it (sorry parents, i know you hate that one!). anyway, well today is my birthday...the big 26...how in the world can i be 26?! even my sister called me this morning to wish me happy birthday and asked how old i was...she said its hard to keep track as i get older. wow. but it makes you feel good to get text messages, phone calls, and messages on the computer...i have wonderful friends and family!
everyone wanted to know what my plans were for the special day. all i could say was "i'm not going to go to walmart or wash clothes"...afterwards i realized how old that sounded. needless to say as i'm typing now i have a load of clothes in the dryer...oh well...at least i didn't go to walmart!
ryan got a cake for me and we are having my parents over tonight. cake. can't remember the last time i had cake for my birthday! so needless to say i'm excited. its the small things apparently. while i'm talking about my birthday...it makes me think of past birthday "parties" i used to have. Lets list the top three:
1. definitely my "achy breaky heart" birthday...in our garage with hay bales...and we learned the line dance to the one hit wonder billy ray...i was raised in bovina, what can i say
2. this one would have to be my pageant party...i have no clue how old i was, but all my friends came with swimsuits and dresses. we had judges and everything. we modeled in my parent's living room and in the end everyone got a sash...things like prettiest eyes, best swimsuit, best smile, etc....i know my mom has a pic so maybe i'll post it later!
3. for this last one, i think i'll go with my two surprise parties... first my sweet sixteen...oh so long ago! that was back when we had a ping pong table in my parent's dining room (that's for another day..lol) and i think it was my 22nd birthday my friends at state planned a party for me...good times good times
all in all, i've had very good birthdays....which is why i'm gonna end this post and go enjoy the rest of MY day! peace...
